The DigiBox Y2D provides conversion of analogue component video signals to serial digital video at 270Mb/s. For composite or S-Video to SDI conversion, please see the Digibox V2D. The user may select the analogue input format to be YPbPr or GBR. The user may also select Syncs to be taken from the Y/G input or a separate composite sync input.
Analogue to digital conversion is at 10-bits and the analogue processing and filtering has been matched to preserve the analogue component quality. Although primarily aimed at compact or temporary installations, the unit is suitable for studio and outside broadcast applications.
Four 270Mb/s serial digital outputs are provided, removing the need for a separate SDI distribution amplifier in many instances.
The user may select to pass or blank VITS present on the analogue input, may select to blank the serial video outputs and may select an internally generated digital colour bar signal for test purposes.
Control is through a DIP switch at the rear of the unit.
The unit has an integral mains power supply (universal 90 to 250Vac range) with filtered IEC connector for safe and reliable installation.
The unit is housed in a robust steel case, and may be rackmounted using the optional RK4 adapter. Up to four units, including others in the Digibox range such as the QSD quad-split, can be combined into this 1U tray.
