The DigiBox V2D Serial Converter converts analogue video signals to serial digital video SDI at 270Mb/s. For analogue component to SDI conversion, please see the Digibox Y2D. The input format is user-selectable between Composite or YC (S-Video) whilst the converter automatically detects PAL 625/50 or NTSC 525/60 from the analogue input signal.
High quality low-delay video decoding is employed and the filtering optimised to ensure optimimum component output quality.
The DigiBox-V2D lets users incorporate legacy analogue equipment in digital installations.
Four 270Mb/s serial digital outputs are provided, removing the need for a separate SDI distribution amplifier in many instances.
Vertical Interval Test Signals (VITS), present on the analogue input, can be passed to the SDI serial digital video outputs which default to show an internally generated digital colour bar signal when no input is present.
Control is through a DIP switch at the rear of the unit.
The DigiBox-V2D has an integral mains power supply with universal mains input 90 to 250VAC range) via a filtered IEC mains inlet connector.
The unit is housed in a robust steel case, and may be rackmounted using the optional RK4 adapter. Up to four units, including others in the Digibox range such as the QSD quad-split, can be combined into this 1U tray.
